Girls Junior Varsity Softball, Girls Varsity Softball · Softball Ends Skid With District Win

Courtnae Bolander 4 Mason softball NHThe Lady Vikings ended their three-game skid Tuesday with a 61st District win in Owingsville over the Bath County Lady Cats 12-2 (5 innings).

Senior Courtnae Bolander (2 for 3, 2 RBI) continued her rampage with the bat, hitting her fifth home run of the season.  Junior Kendra Holbrook ( 2 for 2) doubled and singled and lead the Lady Vikings with 3 RBI.  Several RC players got in on the hit parade:  Senior Lindsey Wilson (2 for 4, 2 RBI); Sophomore Sara Robinson (1 for 3, 1 RBI); Senior Abby Hammond (2 for 3, 1 RBI); Freshman Chloe Patrick (1 for 4); and Senior Autumn Meade (1 for 4).

Senior Abby Hammond went five innings for RC in the circle, giving up four hits and one earned run while fanning five Lady Cats. She moves 9-4 on the season.

“Super job by the entire team to win this District game” commented Head Coach Larry Slone. “We had great pitching and hitting tonight.”

Next up for the Lady Vikings is Greenup County at Lady Viking Field on Thursday, April 30 at 6 p.m.  That game is also “Senior Night” with the recognition ceremony beginning at approximately 5:30 p.m.
