Eagle Trace Golf Course hosted the EKC finals on Monday 21st of September. The Rowan County Vikings golf team played its best round of the season(173) and came up a little short to finish 2nd behind the Lewis County Lions(161) out of a six team field. Russell finished 3rd with a 174, Fleming County 176, East Carter 179, and Nicholas County with a 189.
PARKER WINS INDIVIDUAL EKC TITLE IN PLAY-OFF
Kobe Parker play a spectacular round of 37 to tie for first. Reese Razor of Bath County, Ben Wilson of Russell, Kenny Draper of Lewis County, Blake Evans of Morgan County, and Kobe Parker of Rowan County finished tied after 9 holes at Eagle Trace Golf Course with a score of 37. The 5 players went into a sudden death play-off starting on 18th hole and Kobe hit a great shot into the green and two putted for the WIN. Kobe had shot a 37 at Fleming County Country Club in the qualifier last Monday to help the Vikings get into the Finals at Eagle Trace.
Coach Slone says “The Boys golf team has worked extremely hard this season and gotten better every week. The 2nd place finish in the EKC is a testament to this hard work that each player has given. I am very proud of this team for the never quit attitude and get better work ethic. It is with pleasure and satisfaction that I have the opportunity to coach such a wonderful group of young men.”
